Electrical Engineer / PLC Programmer

Position requires hard-working person that is able to assume and complete electrical design and implementation, PLC programming (programmable logic control). The candidate should be able to design and write a complete package per specification. Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, and/or installation standards and specifications.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Designing control circuits & system integration
  • Designing electrical panels per NEC, CSA, & UL508
  • Configuring VPN & industrial communications
  • PLC, HMI, and VFD programming
  • RTO troubleshooting & startup
  • Develop and maintain engineering procedures and technical standards.

Project Engineer

Summary
Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the production process.

Primary responsibilities
• Create project manufacturing specifications and design drawings for direct fired, recuperative, regenerative thermal and catalytic oxidizers; including major components for fabrications & installation of custom designed industrial equipment.
• Design of custom industrial equipment and processes as required for successful project execution. This includes conceptual design, heat & material balance calculations, control logic, equipment sizing and specifications.
• Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
• Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
• Develop innovative solutions.
• Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
• Collect, record, and transcribe data.
• Maintain testing equipment.
• Develop and maintain engineering procedures and technical standards.
• Support manufacturing, sub-contractors, and suppliers to ensure on time delivery of high quality equipment while maintaining safety practices in all phases of a project.
• Travel to customer facilities to with review project requirements and meet with subcontractors.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
• Accurate depiction of assemblies and parts; identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances and materials for: mechanical, sheet metal, process and electrical designs.
• Mechanical Drafting, Assembly Drawings, Sheet Metal & Welding Representation, and Fabrication Details.
• Experience with Electrical Drafting, Motors & Control Circuits, Logic Diagrams, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Process Piping Details, and Flow Diagrams are a plus.
• Build relationships with engineers, customers and other employees.
• Interact with customers, government agencies and employees ethically and professionally.
• Ability to advise appropriate persons of any concerns and/or discrepancies after collecting and analyzing data.

Mechanical Engineer

Create mechanical design and assembly drawings for recuperative/regenerative thermal and catalytic oxidizer, waste heat boiler, steam generating thermal oxidizer. Design piping systems from concept design to fabrication/installation. Work with ASME/API, PFD, P&ID and Auto Cad 2006. Requires 2 years experience in job offered or as a Piping Designer, Piping Engineer or related to include project planning/execution, piping design, drafting, layout and assembly, ASME, API, PFD and P&ID.

Field Service Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Troubleshooting, repair and commissioning of air pollution abatement systems.
  • Analyze control requirements and isolate control components to verify proper operation.
  • Full comprehension of electrical control & instrumentation diagrams, and control logic.
  • Write PLC programs and make changes in the field as required.
  • Make field repairs and install replacement parts as needed.
  • Inspection of equipment for safe and proper operation.
  • Adjustment of equipment and fine tuning to optimize operation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in person and through written correspondence.
  • Document observations and make suggestions for repairs and/or preventive maintenance, etc.
  • Position requires approximately 75% domestic travel with occasional international travel.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Travel to customer facilities located in the United States with some travel to Canada and other countries as needed to troubleshoot, repair, and/or commission air pollution abatement equipment such as: regenerative thermal oxidizers, catalytic oxidizers, concentrator systems, flares, burners, ovens, heat exchangers, waste heat boilers, economizers and other equipment.
  • Full comprehension of: blue prints, control circuits, logic diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, instrument specifications, data sheets, calculations, PLC, HMI & VFD controls.
  • Programming of PLC, HMI and VFD’s.
  • Work closely with engineering department, manufacturing, sub-contractors, customers and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of high quality equipment.
  • Advise appropriate persons of concerns and/or discrepancies after collecting and analyzing data.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers relating to proper operation and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain courteous professional and ethical relationship with customers, government agencies, subcontractors, and co-workers.
  • Follow directions and safety procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • AA or BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or comparable experience)
  • PC proficiency with AutoCAD 2006 and Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK.
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and control equipment and determine source of malfunction, perform repair and start-up equipment.
  • Proficiency with Allen-Bradley, Siemens and/or Mitsubishi PLC & HMI Programming.
  • 5 years recent experience troubleshooting and repair of gas fired burners for industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information in writing, by telephone, and in person.
  • Familiarity with Thermal Oxidizers, V.O.C. Abatement Equipment, Ovens, Burners, Flares, is a plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

  • Sales representative plans and organizes daily work schedule to initiate direct contact with prospective clients.
  • Identifies decision makes and builds relationships with engineers, plant, and purchasing personnel.
