Ship & Shore Environmental To Assist Manufacturers In Obtaining
Government Financing Incentives

The company has helped over 40 clients save more than US$4 million in gas incentives and nearly a half-million dollars in electric incentives.

Long Beach, CA, June 23, 2015 –Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc. has installed its regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO) for dozens of clients, helping them become much more energy-efficient via air pollution capture and control systems for industrial applications. But now, Ship & Shore is dedicating resources to help clients save money by guiding them through government incentive program applications.

Since 2013, the company has helped its clients receive more than $4 million in gas incentives and nearly a half-million dollars in electric incentives, utilizing various government programs that both save money and help boost performance and become more competitive across diverse markets.

“The work of Ship & Shore (emission controls and energy use improvements) won my firm US$342,000 worth of incentives and a State of Washington energy leadership-in-innovation award,” said Derek LaFramboise, Environmental Affairs Manager at Shields Bag and Printing Co.

We installed a regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) and a flexographic press to improve production at our Yakima, Wash., facility. The RTO from Ship & Shore Environmental Inc. of Signal Hill, Calif., converts volatile organic compounds into carbon dioxide and water. For Shields, that means eliminating solvent fumes,” added LaFramboise.

Ship & Shore makes it very easy for clients to utilize existing government incentive programs to expand or upgrade manufacturing operations. “In more than 40 recent cases, our team was instrumental in the application process for incentives for each overall project, providing the calculations and data needed to support and obtain the energy savings,” says Anoosheh Oskouian, CEO at Ship & Shore Environmental.

Today’s emerging emphasis on business expansion through high-efficiency building and equipment improvements, in fact, is driven by the availability of incentive programs that can significantly decrease the upfront cost of such improvements. The result is an improved return on investment (ROI) and increased motivation to implement technology improvements. Consequently, government funding can greatly help offset the costs of installing new technology.

Millions of dollars have been set aside for U.S. manufacturers to implement process improvements that result in reduced energy consumption. Ship & Shore’s process expertise and energy managers know how to cash-in on these incentive programs by helping our manufacturing customers with the incentive pre-approval process. In fact, in the last few years, Ship & Shore Environmental customers have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash incentives.

“As an engineering partner, Ship & Shore provides advice and technical support to clients when air quality regulations need to be addressed, which may include meeting with regulators. Next, as a solutions partner, we develop technical solutions that will meet VOC collection and abatement regulations and, as active participants of several trade associations, we offer valuable experience and insight regarding compliance issues. Finally, our recent addition to our services of helping clients obtain cash incentives has become extremely popular among manufacturers,” said John vonBargen, co-founder of Ship & Shore Environmental, Inc.

Some examples of recent projects include:

1) A new flexographic packaging operation serving the fresh fruit and vegetable industry received an incentive of more than $100,000.

2) A Washington film extruder and converter received $342,000 worth of incentives and a leadership-innovation award.

3) A coating operation received an incentive of more than $600,000.
